Tips to Use Twitter Favorites

Users are allowed to create and define some of the features in twitter. The ‘Favorites’ features are an old one in twitter but unfortunately it does not get enough publicity. Not many people use this feature as most of them are not aware of its applications and usability. There are mainly three ways in which you can use the twitter favorites.

Social Bookmarking

People love twitter mainly because of its content. Most of the people on twitter have something to offer like the latest news, good design posts and other stuff that you have probably never heard off before you came across that tweet. You may not have the time to read each and every article or the patience to go through every web page; so you can favorite those tweets so that you can check those out when you are relaxing. You can leave them in your favorites if you find them to be very interesting or you may retweet them to share it with your friends. When you use ‘Favorites’ as a social bookmarking tool, others get an opportunity to check what you find so valuable.

Completing Your Profile

The twitter bio is very important as it tells the followers what they want to know about you and the favorite tweets tell them what you deem to be important. People will actually give more importance to what you like and what your ‘favorites’ are. When your twitter bio is complete in all respects, the people get an impression that you are serious about twitter and not just a casual observer.

Word-Of-Mouth Recommendations

Many have classified social media as a digital form of testimonials and a good course for word-of-mouth marketing. No wonder, platforms like twitter plays a huge role in this respect. The primary use of the ‘Favorites’ feature is to establish your authority through others’ tweets. When a user will check your favorite tweets, he will come across the kind words that your guests have posted about you. You are actually not soliciting their tweets but you are capturing them as your favorite things. If those tweets means a lot to you then chances are there that it will also mean a lot to those people who are considering following you.

Encourage Others

You will often find that some of your followers favorite a few of your tweets or maybe he favorite a link to one of your blog posts which he intends to read later. When you carefully follow these favorites, you will understand what topics are actually favored in your community. It is something like a real-time feedback and, of course, a new form of encouragement.

Favorite is a new form of twitter interaction that proves more meaningful than any reply to any of your tweets. It proves to you that you are actually doing a good job but at the same time you cannot ignore any of @reply as you may offend any potential audience in the process. This feature encourages the users to bring out quality content and makes the internet an intelligent place indeed.
