(UPDATE: I’m happy to report as of October 2013 my iron levels are completely back to normal)

First of all I must apologize for taking so long to update you on my surgery and recovery. It’s taken some time to heal and I’ve really had to pick and choose where I put my time and energy. If you follow me on Facebook you’ve already had some updates. My life no longer feels like it’s upside down. It’s beginning to feel right side up!

It’s been a little over a month since I had a partial-hysterectomy. I’m feeling fantastic. A little tender in the abdomen here and there but for the most part I feel incredible. My energy levels are much higher than they used to be. I’m starting to take less and less naps and my cravings for ice have completely vanished. This is a good sign my iron levels are increasing. If  you haven’t heard about my hysterectomy journey you can catch up here.

I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding the Davini Intuitive Surgical Machine but I have no regrets. My doctor was fantastic. She was thorough and very experienced. If you are looking at having this surgery be sure to use a doctor with plenty of experience using the machine and trust your intuition. My intuition led me to find my doctor on the internet. It paid off. She did a great job. I felt very safe in her care. Plus she partners with another doctor so I had a whole team looking after me.

If this is a procedure you are looking at I highly recommend connecting with all the wonderful ladies at HysterSisters. You will find topics on every question you can think of. Build your support group. With any kind of surgery having the right support online and off can make a whole world of difference.

I’m very grateful to my friends and family who have helped tremendously during my recover. My husband Randy has been there for every step, assisting with anything I needed and keeping me in check so I didn’t over do it to soon. Stacy my best friend of 26 years made me a veggie smoothie everyday to boost my iron and keep my energy up, not to mention a healthy diet aids in the healing process. My buddy Scott made me a chocolate cake. I must confess I ate most of it myself. My mom gave me the most beautiful angel. She wanted me to have something that would last to remind me on my transformation. Many thanks to everyone who sent me well wishes and supported my transformation to better health. Namaste, Carol
